Petition to Get Maroon 5 To Play the "Spongebob Squarepants" "Sweet Victory" at the 2019 Superbowl
Updated: Feb 4, 2019
Listen, I am ALL for this. I am about to sign the petition.. even if it has no traction at least I feel like I made an effort to get Maroon 5 to perform this amazing song. I've needed this for years. It might actually even give me a reason to watch the 2019 Super Bowl... which I never watch.
"Sweet Victory" was a part of "Spongebob Squarepants" Season 2, Episode 15 "Bubble Bowl" and aired on September 7th 2001. It was written by C.H. Greenblatt, Aaron Springer, and Merriwether Williams. The animation itself was directed by Frank Weiss. So, eighteen years seems long enough to wait for a special occasion such as this, amiright?
I KNOW Marroon 5 isn't exactly the best fit for this but they are honestly super great for listening to what their fans want and I think would be willing to make an exception.... -crosses fingers-
Especially since "Spongebob Squarepants" creator Stephen Hillenburg passed away in November of 2018 this would be the ultimate time to express our love for his creation.
On Jan 30'th Jamal N. Williams tweeted a sneak-preview of Maroon 5's half-time rehearsal and in his camera shot there is an image of none-other than SPONGEBOB himself. Even Maroon 5 tweeted a video on Jan 13th and Spongebob makes an appearence.
SO WHO KNOW'S
To sign the petition to get Maroon 5 to perform >>>> "Sweet Victory" Just ONE MORE DAY!
UPDATE: 02/04/2019
MAROON 5 DID NOT PERFORM "Sweet Victory" As requested.....
They simply just showed images of the episode for the fans.
I put this as they simply didn't buy the liscencing to play the song so instead fans were let down tremendously.... Or at least I was.....
Next year, needless to say, I will be boycotting the Superbowl. Not that I cared that much anyway, but this would have been a great chance for them to reach an entire niche of people who don't like football but LOVE cartoons... Yeah. Didn't happen.
THANKS AMERICAN FOOTBALL
